The purpose of geography

Geography connects science and social studies. It analyses science and social structures and relationships, also it gives a better understanding of law, philosophy and economics.

The goal of geography is to deepen the ability to orientate, give a better understanding of geography’s concept.

 

Aims of geography

Students who choose this subject are able to:

Understand and analyze the principals of nature, analyze the rise of social, global and local problems and understand how to solve them, develop a better understanding of geography while using the examples of the world and Lithuania’s regions, start a discussion about geography, correctly use geographical concepts and develop practical abilities.

 

Students who chose extended course are able to:

Analyze Lithuania and the world’s social, cultural, economical and political events and changes, express their opinion on global issues, compare countries by geopolitical and social aspects, get ready for studies in university.
